Mission
The goal of Mythottle.net is to take the motorcycle community to the next level. While there are many motorcycle forums and sites out there, they are either brand or genre specific. Mythrottle.net aims to blur those lines and make an online community for ALL motorcycle riders. What the individual user will find is that riders are only a click away. The site aims to make group collaboration easier and at the same time provide him or her with a virtual garage (personal space).
A social networking site is not complete without a forum. The forum offers the ability to reach out to multiple users and have questions answered or statements made. The forum is also a portal for vendors to reach out to Mythrottle.net members and offer special sales or discounts.
By combining unique features and an appealing layout, Mythrottle.net sets out to be your motorcycle site of choice.
History
Mythrottle.net began as an idea in 2004. At the time it was thought up to be just a motorcycle forum. It did not go very far since a forum without a targeted brand or genre is not of much interest to a user since it offers no real value. There is no WIIFM (What’s in it for me). The idea was dormant for 3 years until late 2007 when the lacking aspect was found. The author, trying to set up a group ride was having trouble targeting others outside of his riding circle. His forum of choice was only out there for riders who owned the same motorcycle he had. An attempt to find just a site to locate other riders in the area was fruitless. The sites had relatively low numbers of members, did not allow for customized requests, or were visually boring. Thus, Mythrottle.net had its WIIFM. In early 2008 plans to complete the idea went underway. The plan was delivered to a talented web design firm and was made to the specifications you see before you today.
